Description

At health care centres for youths, you can obtain guidance and advice on substance abuse, sexuality, STDs, mental health issues and diet, among other things. You can also be referred to a specialist. The health care centre for young adults is a subsidiary service under the normal health care centres’ activities.

Target group

Youths up to 20 years of age.

Charges/Cost of the service

The service is free.

Acts

The municipality is obligated to provide health care centre and school health services to children and youth under the age of 20. See in particular 

Sections 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3 of the Health Care Act

Chapter 7 of the Patient Rights Act

Contact your nearest health care centre. You do not need to make an appointment.

Possibilities to appeal; procedure

If you feel that you are not receiving the necessary assistance, or are dissatisfied with how the service is rendered, you can submit a complaint to the municipality or directly to the service provider. Explain why you are dissatisfied and what changes you would like to see.
