If you have children in grades 1-4, you can apply for a place for your child in the day-care facilities programme (SFO).

Description

You can apply for a place for your child in the day-care facilities programme (SFO). It is a service provided before and after school hours for students in grades 1-4 and students with special needs in grades 1-7.

Target group

Students in primary and lower secondary school who reside in the municipality.

The municipality is obligated to ensure that this service is provided. See in particular Section 10-9 Police certificate and Section 13-7 Day-care facilities for school children of the Education Act.

Time taken to consider the application

The municipality will process the case as soon as possible. If a decision cannot be reached on the case within one month, you will receive a written message stating the reason as to why. You will also be informed of when the decision is expected to be made.

Possibilities to appeal; procedure

If your application is denied, you can submit an appeal to the municipality within three weeks from the date on which you received the decision. Explain what you are dissatisfied with and why you believe the decision should be changed. If you need guidance, you can enquire with the municipality. If the municipality upholds its decision, the case will be passed on to the municipal appeals board, who will determine whether the appeal should be sustained.
